The academic year usually starts on October 1st and lasts until the middle of July. Students are required to enrol for each year of study; enrolment is usually scheduled for the first ten days of October.

Teaching is structured in two semesters of study. In addition to the continuous assessment during the semester, there are two examination terms, in January-February and in June-July. In September, a third assessment term is set for the modules in the 2nd semester.

The curriculum of each programme includes internships in design studios, in administration or in research structures, according to the specialization and level, in Romania or abroad. The university offers international internships for students through the dedicated office.

Study trips in Romania and abroad are organized each year, usually during the spring term.

The graduation work (dissertation, diploma projects) is guided by tutor(s); the graduation follows specific regulations for each course and requires previous registration of the candidate.

The diploma projects are assessed by international juries which generally meet in July (first session) and March (second session).

The international applicants for Romanian taught courses are expected to have completed the preparatory year of learning Romanian language and to attest their proficiency at least at B2 level.
