Learning outcomes:
The general objective of the discipline is also to cultivate interest and involvement in the professional community by participating students in competitions, workshops, communication sessions, conferences, seminars, etc. organized both internally and by other higher education institutions, professional organizations or associations. This discipline therefore aims at the ability to transfer in professional practice some methods of documentation and analysis, as well as the skills learned through other disciplines already studied in the bachelor's program - including those related to communication and working in multidisciplinary teams.

I. The first specific objective of the discipline is to correlate the content and skills acquired in the undergraduate program with the challenges that exist as they prepare to enter the labor market. A distinction must be made between the objectives of the professional practice disciplines and those specific to this discipline because, unlike an internship in which students learn the current ways of working and tasks, this discipline aims to connect students to actions of reflection, synthesis or innovative initiatives on topics that do not find a clearly defined answer in current practice.

II. The second specific objective is achieved by organizing the session of student scientific communications, in which applied research in urban design is understood as an approach that involves the ability to ask questions (applied research) about phenomena that have spatial manifestations that can be improved by design.
Content:
I. Presentation and analysis of categories of activities included in the scoring grid, with examples:
-conferences organized by higher education institutions and / or professional associations,
-thematic exhibitions organized by higher education institutions and / or professional associations,
-workshops organized by higher education institutions and / or professional associations,
-contests with the guided participation of teachers or representatives of professional associations,
-contributions in publications of higher education institutions and / or professional associations,
-volunteer activities within associations that act to activate public spaces and citizenship in connection with the built environment.

The role of the university environment in the effort to refresh professional practices and to correlate them with the current needs of society.

II. To participate in the communication session, students will be guided by:
- identifying the sources of information in order to correctly and completely define the basic terms for the study of those phenomena (from the literature),
- documenting and presenting examples that have worked elsewhere to improve similar situations that have faced the same type of phenomena (one case study relevant to the chosen topic)
-synthesizing some conclusions in answer to the research questions and in the form of action recommendations that can guide the urban design approach in spaces that face the analyzed phenomenon.

By practicing and being aware of the stages of this research approach applied to a topic chosen by students, they will increase their autonomy, as well as the skills of synthesis and presentation in an imposed format. These skills are useful in preparing the diploma project. It is also encouraged to form teams with students from other faculties to prepare students to work in interdisciplinary teams.

The presentation of the presentations is public during the Student Communications Session (February).
Teaching Method:
lectures with visual support, guidance at various stages for the preparation of the presentation in the communication session, discussion for the equivalence of participations in various activities (according to the grid), organization of the communication session by the supervisors, public presentations.
Assessment:
The 2 credits related to the discipline are obtained based on the cumulation of the score related to the eligible activities according to a grid (regulation) based on the preparation and presentation in the Communications Session and / or a portfolio which must include evidence of participation. activities carried out specifying the professional benefits obtained, results of participation (content elements).
The minimum score for promotion is 10 points corresponding to grade 5.
