Call for papers_Argument 13/2021: “Versatility of the Built Space”

December 9, 2020

Abstract submission deadline (max. 300 words): February 1st, 2021

The contemporary understanding of the built space, as an interdependence of the architecture and the realities in the middle of which it stands, emphasizes its capacity to respond to changes and context. Far from being the only major challenge, but being the most recent, the pandemic we face raises the issue of the versatility of architectural space, a possible, desirable attribute, but with important implications, at the architectural programs level, but also at the level of human perception and behavior. Thus, the adaptability of architecture seems to legitimately acclaim the exercise of versatility that deserves to be sustained in the spirit of a new coherence, easy to perceive and understand, easy to interpret and appropriate, a new space interacting in unconventional ways, but actively involving both its users and the context. Starting from the elements of architectural language that have consecrated their meaning in the theory of architecture over time and trying to bring to the fore attributes such as: multi-functionality, mixed-use, hybridity, diversity, we invite you to investigate and debate, in the 13th no. of Argument journal, the theme of the versatility of the built space.

We look forward to receiving your proposals on the editorial office email – argument.uauim@gmail.com.
