- Learning outcomes:
- -To practice on already built sites and relate the new proposals to the rehabilitation of the extant buildings from functional and volumetric viewpoints;
-To relate to proximity and to adjust to the context under study;
-To make students aware of a rational perception of the existing urban system;
-To experiment formative sides of the INTEGRATED design system of architecture, urban planning, and technological science;
-To develop students’ ability of identifying and mastering the complexity of parameters influencing the process of elaborating of the architectural design;
-To go further into the study of sustainable development, environment, and ecology;
-To explore other ways of operating into time-honored sites affected by various interventions or de-structured sites;
-To encourage the study of impact resulting in the emergence of a new function in an existing urban context. - Content:

A. GUIDED PROJECTS
Project on Studio Theme. The project theme is elaborated by each design studio being part of the semester themes.
Projects on Chair Theme. According to semester curriculum, the Chair suggests a thematic which correspond to the TOPICAL MODULE - 2 - "SPARE TIME":
THEME - URBAN HOTEL 3-4 STARS.
B. PROJECTS WITHOUT GUIDANCE
The one-day paper tests student’s capacity to give a quick and efficient answer to the problems posed by a smaller project task.
The one-day project (2 one-day projects) is related to the problematic of the guided architectural project.
C. LECTURES ON PROJECT THEORY
Tutors will deliver lectures on themes related to the current architectural project.
LECTURE TITLES (Selected from among the guidance program of the entire studio team) :
Site analysis - information processing and interpretation
The personality of a site – examples, characteristics, specific areas, developing conditions, history - the students' proposals - discussing and justifying options
Conditioning and specificity of protected areas
Densification and enhancement in architecture
Mutations - changes in personality - Teaching Method:
- Correction of each student's work, correction of students' work as a group, theoretical lectures with multimedia aids, site visits, case analyses, handouts.
- Assessment:
- Student's defense of the project within the group, for which the jury will give a grade.
