- Learning outcomes:
- Understanding the relationship between contemporary architectural creation and the natural and historic built environment throughout specific concepts discussed in the History, Theory and Heritage Conservation lectures.
The first objective of the trip is to get from the students a sample of architectural and urban survey and analysis, focuses on some particular aspects of the phenomenon of natural and built heritage of the visited settlements. These issues generally develop around the relationship between new and old, the contemporary creation and enhancement of the cultural heritage.
The second objective is to document in situ the restoration project coordinated by the Department. - Content:
- Study trip involves a guided tour including visits to architectural ensembles of Wallachia (Cozia Monastery, Targoviste - Dealu monastery, Stelea monastery, Royal Court, Curtea de Arges - the Episcopal Complex, Royal Court, Campulung - Negru Voda Monastery) and southern Transylvania (the fortified churches of Dealu Frumos, Hosman, Merghindeal, the summer residence of Baron von Brukenthal from Avrig and Cârţa Cistercian monastery).

- Guided tour of historic monuments
- Assessment:
- Photographic documentary and architectural research, as part of the statement of the solution required in the restoration project.
