- Learning outcomes:
- Defining the role of architectural history in the professional training of students, understanding this discipline as an essential cultural support for practicing architecture; understanding of the architectural phenomenon as an expression of regional and temporal features; establish criteria for analyzing architecture of the XIV-XVIII centuries, in relation with the criteria for local, regional and European features; understanding the history of architecture, the mutations, influences, transformations that punctuated as a useful working tools for the contemporary design, as well marked by "transition".

- C1. Problems of Romanian historiography of architecture; specific issues of political and historical and culture frameworks of Moldova, Wallachia, Dobrogea, Transylvania and Banat;
C2. Hungarian Kingdom in the 11th-15th centuries; Saxon settlers and their work in Transylvania, influences in the local religious architecture of the Romanian villages;
C3. Hungarian Kingdom and Romanian countries in the 14th century, cultural influences and architecture, Saxon settlers and their work in Transylvania, influences in Romanian vernacular religious architecture.
C4. Rural settlements: typology and history
C5. Urban phenomenon in the middle age
C6. Renaissance in culture and architecture, spirit of the age (John Hunyadi and Matthias Corvinus, Stefan cel Mare, Neagoe Basarab, Petru Cercel and aspirations of an era, Jeremiah Mogila, cultural patterns, urban policy and architectural achievements)
C7. "Byzantium after Byzantium", mentality and spirituality, aesthetic horizons in architecture in Wallachia and Moldova in the 16th-17th centuries, aspirations and specific manifestations, the monastic complex.
S1 - Discussion on the themes of the seminar;
S2 - Cathedrals of medieval cities of Transylvania
S3 - Church architecture in Moldova, crystallization of the "style" in the age of Stefan cel Mare
S4 - Church architecture in Wallachia until the late 16th century, crystallization of the "style" and the Wallachian synthesis.
S5 - Religious architecture of Moldova in the 16th and 17th centuries, tradition and modernity
S6 - Wallachian influences in Moldova. Masterpieces of the 17th century.
S7 - Church architecture in Wallachia in the 17th century and early 18th century, "the flowering of the style" - Teaching Method:
