Learning outcomes:
Integration within the profession culture those essential knowledge concerning the evolution of Romania’s localities. Students will be provided with modern notions, knowledge of historic research of towns; this kind of activity is both essential and necessary in the process of current urban planning operations and, in general, for any type of intervention on the built environment.
Content:
The lecture contains two main parts. The first comprises lectures in which information is associated with various methods of historic enquiry such as the relation between territory and location from a historic perspective as key factors of towns’ modernization; the relation between theory and practice in urbanism, the role of urban legislation, etc. Several case studies will be under scrutiny.
In the second part, several research applications, analysis and historic interpretation will be carried out.
Teaching Method:
Lectures with illustrations, several discussions about the progress of research of every team.
Assessment:
The contribution of every student will be reflected in the final mark.

Will be recommended at the end of each lecture; a separate bibliography will be indicated for the research application, adapted to each specific case.
