Teaching language:
Romanian
Learning outcomes:
The central purpose of the Practical Applications of Architectural Technology (APTA) is to understand and practice the theoretical notions acquired in the courses Introduction to Construction Physics and Architectural Detailing (1) that students go through in the 3rd semester of the 3rd year.
Content:
Within the practical applications, a design exercise is proposed for the detailing of the construction studied in the studio project. The topics of the study are related to each other and organized in a logical sequence correlated with the theoretical notions acquired in the Introduction to Construction Physics and Architectural Detailing (1) courses. The proposed study topics will follow stages similar to those in practice, starting from the architectural image to the sketching details, analyzing the variants, and the solutions of connection between different constructive and finishing systems. The activity within APTA will involve the design and drafting of technical details similar to those of the execution projects, supported by prior technical documentation on existing systems on the market and the individual study with sketches of possible solutions. With the support of the architecture project presented at the Workshop in the second year, semester II, during the meetings dedicated to the practical applications of architectural technology, it is proposed to study possible compliance solutions for: • Ventilated facade systems; • Interior finishes for walls; • Interior finishes for floors
Teaching Method:
Individual or group discussions based on detailed sketches and documentation taught before each module.
Assessment:
The final drawings will be submitted one day before the scheduled presentation, during the exams session In order to pass the discipline, it is necessary to obtain an average of at least 5.00 (five), without rounding The following criteria will be considered: the quality of the documentation as part of the individual study as well as the correctness and quality of the proposed solutions and details; • correctness of graphic representation; • active participation during practical applications.
Bibliography:
To solve the topics it is recommended to use the bibliographic materials indicated in the courses Architectural Detail 1 and Introduction to the physics of constructions. In addition, you can consult the bibliographic materials of the courses Wood and steel constructions and Masonry and concrete constructions. Notes:
The practical applications will be elaborated in groups of 2 students. Before each application it is mandatory to go through the theoretical notions, document and sketch the proposed solution for each announced topic. It’s mandatory uploading the materials (sketches, documentation, drawings) before each application.
