SFA-9 | Perspective
Compulsory Course | Hours/Week: 1C+1L | ECTS Credits: 3
Department: Study of Form and Ambience
- Titular:
- asist.dr.arh. Sorana Untanu
- Teaching Staff:
- asist. dr. arh. Sorana Untanu, asist. arh. Valeria Potenchi, prep. arh. Ioana Avram
- Learning outcomes:
- Starting from the description of the mechanisms of human sight, the course introduces students to present space in the perspective picture. The goal of practical work is to make students express the architectural perspective fast and expressively, focusing on in-depth understanding of this mechanism that together with perspective by observation stands for basic ways of “view in space”.
- Content:
- Lectures:
1 Elements of conical projection system. Perspective classification.
Free perspective with two vanishing points at 1.80m.
2 Measurements points and distance points. Perspective representation of the point, line and plane.
3 Perspective divisions. Perspective construction with two vanishing points at over-raised horizon.
4 Distance point. Outside frontal perspective at 1.80 m and over raised horizon. Inside frontal perspective.
5 Shadows in perspective. Shadows with light source situated at infinity. Shadows with light source situated at defined distance.
6 Circle and sphere in perspective representation. Perspective deformations. Light and color in perspective.
7 Mirroring in perspective. Restitution of perspective.
Practical themes
1 Drawing the architectural volumes in perspective with two vanishing points at 1.80 m on vertical picture.
2 Stair construction at two vanishing points on vertical picture at 1.80 m.
3 Evaluation test during the semester.
4 Drawing the architectural volumes in perspective on vertical picture with two vanishing points at over-raised horizon.
5 Drawing the architectural volumes in outside frontal perspective.
6 Shadows construction in perspective. Treatment of elevation and placement of antourage in perspective.
7 Color and light in hand-drawn perspective. Mirroring in perspective. - Teaching Method:
- Lectures with slides, computer projections, individual drawing, discussions, and correction.
- Assessment:
- Test during the semester + applications + Exam (Test during the semester + Average of 3 applications tasks + Final exam) / 3
