Learning outcomes:

Learning the basics regarding conditions and componets of the landscape, their treatment and implementation.

Content:

Introduction to technical aspects of landscape facilities, conditions and components
Practical approach to landscape facilities, matching algorithm of the species, environmental factors and specific design requirements.
Exploring the technical steps required to achieve a landscape design project (in theory).
Ways of composition and representation of ornamental plants: alignments, groups, massive, hedges, rabat, arabesques, stains, borders, groups.
Making the technical design for a landscape project.
Planting material production technologies.
Nurseries. Planting technique and maintenance of trees, shrubs and hedges. Technologies used.
Rose planting and maintenance technique, climbing plants, herbaceous plants, annual and perennial flowering plants.
Engineering plants for planting and maintenance of water pieces and turf.
Technical methods of implementing landscape projects.
Level changes. Transposition of the project. Land reclamation.
Types, ways of making, materials for limits and closures, steps and ramps, different surfaces found in landscape projects.
Structures, atypical gardens, rock gardens and raised beds.
Formal- informal water features : implementation, characteristics.
Urban concrete spaces projects implementations. Design and maintenance of container planting.
Orchard and garden - technologies used. Relations between plants. Pests.

Teaching Method:

Illustrated and commented lecture.

Assessment:

Arithmetical mean of the 3 verification papers, presented during the semester
