- To discuss again some concepts that define the theory and practices connected to built heritage and their distribution in the larger context of the architectural profession;
To approach the appearance and spreading of the notion of historical monument as part of the European and world phenomenon;
To investigate the relations between monument conservation and the building of new ones;
To analyze the condition of built environment in the system of contemporary settlements;
To approach some general theoretical matters of architecture highlighted by the theory and practice of built heritage. - Content:

ANTIQUARIANS, VANDALS, AND AVANT-GARDE. Bookish conservation; ideological demolitions; post-industrial conservation
THE ROMANIAN CASE: THE BOARD OF HISTORICAL MONUMENTS; The “Romanian Viollet”: Leconte de Nouy; DMASI
