- Learning outcomes:
- The course aims at introducing students to the growth of visual arts (painting, sculture, graphic) from times immemorial to our days. It analyzes the problems connected to the origin of art and the way in which it constantly vacillated between abstract and concrete, as well as the relation between representation and expression techniques.

The art between the Tigris and the Euphrates;
Cretan and Mycenaean art;
The Greek art;

The post-Roman art (Romanesque, Gothic, Byzantine);

The neo-Classical art;
The modern art, premises;
The 19th century “isms”;
The 20th century art;
From modern to post-modern. - Teaching Method:
