UP-5 | Urban Design

Learning outcomes:

The study of URBAN PARTI aims to:

1.analyze the development resources taking into account the foreseen capacities and in relation to the adjacent areas, the work areas, favorable transport, the relation to town center, local traditions, existing utility mains, etc.
2. improve the territory efficiency by a new functional organization and a proper building in the given area.
3. create a street network to suit the circulation and public transport as well as the smooth connection to town center.
4. the creation of some personal image of the area and a higher standard of urban comfort, adequate to present and future needs.

Content:

The project is focused on a case study for the arrangement of a residential urban area. The study is carried out at the level of URBAN PARTI, while its theme looks at the future development of a locality by considering the legal framework, documentation, (Master Plan, Local Area Plan) and strategies of intervention.

Teaching Method:

Presentation of case studies, individual discussions, project critique.

Assessment:

Evaluation of project work during the semester, namely, student’s individual study and participation into debates (50%) and the mark for the final project.
