- Learning outcomes:
- The project is a preliminary study of pre-qualification analysis and assessment to determine the conditions and possibilities for intervention on a property (vacant land or building) located in an urban area where there are complex regulations regarding the protection of a general nature and cultural heritage / or landscape.
The project aims at preparing the documentation to be present at prediplomă the development of this stage:
- Multi-criteria analysis of the site chosen for the graduation project, focusing on its cultural dimensions;
- History (history) and the values of the site;
- Analyzing the construction chosen for rehabilitation (if applicable);
- Analysis of architectural and urbanistic precedents relevant to the chosen architectural theme or program (national and international).
The project objectives are:
- Determining the compatibility of the site (natural or constructed) and the theme of architecture (by multicriteria analysis of the site);
- Determining the opportunities and constraints of the site (in response to the values of the site);
- Determining the possibilities of building on site (by the board of regulatory documents developed urban)
- Determination of those restrictions and affordability of building rehabilitation.
The project involves two levels of approach:
- Drawing area basis in relation to vocation;
- Development project proposed intervention responsible student basis, and ensure integration of the new object in the architectural character of the existing tissue (compared with the particulars set as significant urban regulations for the protection of cultural heritage and / or landscape of the area studied).
The project will benefit from the guidance of specialists in heritage protection and urban planning, school and outside school.
Educational Objectives:
Assimilation and application of research methods, regulation and intervention in different cultural areas established or still unidentified potential (tissue located in urban or natural environment), as well as rehabilitation, enhancement and preservation of cultural values identified characteristic of these areas, by the insertion of new buildings or expansion of existing buildings. - Content:
- Project Phases:
1. definition of intervention by the choice of subject for the perimeter of the building and research;
2. development analysis, preliminary evaluation and establishment of regulatory intervention in the urban perimeter of the building adjacent to the research study on the basis of multi, summarizing and evaluating data;
3. determining the attitude towards the study area as a result of research, development of theme based on the proposal (objective the protection and development), the elements of the framework regulation and normative acts (planning documentation, specific legislation);
4. development intervention project (designing a new building / or extension of an existing building, according to regulation and intervention plan developed previously. - Teaching Method:
- Studio tutoring accompanied by presentations and conferences.
- Assessment:
- - the coherence of the analysis and the regulations proposed accordingly;
- the coherence of the working method during the project phases;
- the proper ellaboration of the architectural theme with respect to the issues of the site. - Bibliography:
- Historical and present day plans and guides the city of Bucharest;
Historical Studies, and various studies and technical specifications approved for protected historic buildings located in areas of Bucharest. - Notes:
- A comprehensive bibliography will be customized and presented durig the workshops based on specific themes chosen by students.
