Learning outcomes:
-to develop students’ capacity to integrate the urban context into the elaboration of a highly personal expression of the architectural program;
-to acquire the subject-matter of dwelling along with the configuration principles of dwelling spaces;
-to understand the absolute relationship between expression and style;
-to gradually learn the “grammar” of expressing oneself within the architectural discourse;
-to introduce students to the principles of ecological, sustainable architecture
Content:
Generally the teaching system is focused on the integrating attitude of the data basis defining a study meant to lead to an overall coherence.
1. Project titles:
a. Public space
b. Detached house on a lot;
2. One-day practice
3. Design practice (documentation trips, seminars with guests; lectures, sketches, etc)
Teaching Method:
-theoretical lectures (with illustration) by the teaching staff or guests delivered to the entire year of study or to the studio groups.
-students’ guidance through the whole study activity;
-correction of each student’s work in which the whole group takes part;
-site visits, case analyses, worksheets, project sketch;
Other guidance methods: conversation, debate around a problem, exposition, explanation.
Assessment:
Student’s defense of the project for which the jury will give a grade.
