- Learning outcomes:
- -to acquire some basic notions about appropriateness of function, structure, form, and significance;
-to be able to insert the urban context into elaborating a personal opinion about the architectural program;
-to exercise the perception of the relationship among volume, rhythm, scale, and luminosity;
-to acquire/understand the role of resistance structure into defining the spatial configuration out of the function calculation;
-to understand the absolute relationship between expression and style;
-to gradually learn the “grammar” of expressing oneself within the architectural discourse;
-to help students acquire projective-oriented thinking;
-to acquire some rules of composition and combination of forms;
-to introduce the students to the principles of ecological, sustainable architecture;
-to approach the subject-matter of dwelling and principles of living space configuration. - Content:
- Generally the teaching system is focused on the integrating attitude of the data basis defining a study meant to lead to an overall coherence.
1.Project Titles
a. Space-Structure-Expression (exhibition pavilion, info-box, club, greenhouse, etc)
b. Morphology of Dwelling (Terrace Houses).
2. One-day project (Structure-expression (pavilion), dwelling (shared spaces, house details, etc) - Teaching Method:
- Theoretical lectures (with illustration) by the teaching staff or guests delivered to the entire year of study or to the studio groups.
- Assessment:
- Student’s defense of the project for which the jury will give a grade.
